The new 16.2 MP FX-format Nikon D4 is now on the street and “in my hands!”  Here's my first portrait shot with this incredible camera.  Because I needed to update my own portrait, I decided to use myself as my very first subject!

This image was created with one White Lighting Einstein 640ws light and two silver cards for fill on a Super Black Savage seamless background and was captured in RAW on the Nikon D4 at f2.8 @ 1/160, with a 70-200mm f2.8 VRII lens mounted on a Manfrotto 190xPROB Tripod and a Kirk BH3 Ballhead.  Processed the file using the Adobe Camera Raw 6.7 Beta Version.  I corrected very little in the Adobe Raw and translated the shot into black and white. With little retouching in Adobe Photoshop to remove some of the Arizona character lines (otherwise known as wrinkles), and only a slight Eye Bump using Total Rad's Pro Retouch Action, the final image is sharp and clean.

The end file result straight out of the camera produces a crisp 4928x3280 pixel, 10.9 x 16.4 inch, 300dpi, 46.2MB file ready to print.

Noteworthy:   I give special credit to my lovely wife who assisted me with these images and is the one who actually pressed the shutter!  Awesome work Deana!  (I best be careful as she may be eyeing my job!)
